Winter lodging and snowmobile rentals!

Just a friendly reminder, we will have winter lodging and snowmobile rentals starting this winter season. Avoid the crowds and enjoy the serenity of the Gunnison National Forest in the winter! You can rent snowmobiles and ride right from the store (just like our ATV rentals!). No trailering, no wasting time getting to the mountains, just a whole day (or days) playing in the snow. For you skiers and snowboarders, we are just a short drive away from both Monarch Ski Area and Crested Butte Ski Area. Stay and play here, all while avoiding the crowds at all the big places this winter!

Cumberland Pass is open! Probably still a bit narrow for full size vehicles, but jeeps, ATVs, RZRs, and bikes can make it over no problem. Click on this post to see some pictures!

Come help us kick off the 2014 season and the store’s 50 anniversary year tomorrow (5/12/14) at 9:30am! We will have complimentary coffee and a light breakfast. Swing by, say hi, help us start the season off right!

Some news for the store! We now have another unit to rent out! If you have tried calling about lodging and we were full, or couldn’t provide the dates you needed, please check back with us. New and Improved!!!

The Silver Plume General Store website might look a little different now! This is in advance of some new and exciting changes coming to the store this summer! We will be opening a grill at the store to serve food. This will give visitors to Pitkin a place to kick back, take a break from riding, hiking, fishing, etc. and grab a bite to eat. We will be offering items such as hamburgers, barbecue, and grilled cheese sandwiches. For more information, click on the grill link at the top!

Another new addition to the store, is the availability of Polaris side by sides (SXS) and Yamaha snowmobiles for rent! We are now taking reservations for the 2014 season, as well as the winter of 2014/2015 for snowmobiles. We believe you will find the pricing to be some of the best in the area, and the customer service to be world class. We want nothing more than for you to have a great day out in the Gunnison National Forest with your family and friends enjoying the sights! You can find more information and pricing here.
